GMATHS holds Virtual Orientation for Students and Parents

In the orientation, Dr. Victorio N. Medrano, Principal IV, ensured the parents that amidst the global pandemic, GMATHS teachers are well-trained to help students develop their field of choice for both academic and technical-vocational skills.

 

He also clarified the learning mode the students would use for the incoming school year.

 

“There will be both modular and online learning modality in this school year and it is called blended, whereas, every student will get a copy of the modules but if they have access on internet they can have interaction with their teacher to answer their questions,” Medrano said.

General Mariano Alvarez Technical High School (GMATHS) conducted a virtual orientation for parents, guardians and incoming Grade 7 students, and refreshers for Grade 8 to 12 in preparation for academic year 2020-2021, Sept. 11.

GMATHS Department Heads explained in the online orientation the procedures to be conducted for the school year for both modular and blended learning.

 

Ms. Helen Salazar, Head Teacher of the Filipino Department, discussed the module’s parts and how to answer the module’s activities, and Ms. Karen A. PestaÅ„o, Head Teacher of the Science Department, discussed the Weekly Home Learning Plan.

 

Ms. Bessie Madriaga, OIC of the MAPEH Department, gave a refresher about the concept of self-evaluation, and Mr. Arnold M. Mendoza, Head Teacher of TVE Department, explained student’s portfolio parts and importance.

 

In addition, returning of books scheduled on Sept. 14 and submission of credentials for Grade 7 and transfer students would follow strict guidelines of COVID-19 Inter-Agency Task Force.
