General Mariano Alvarez Technical High School (GMATHS) received International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 making it the first Public Technical Vocational School in the Philippines certified by NQA Audit Firm.
Certificate was officially awarded by Mr. Ranilo L. Bernardino, NQA, CEO/General Manager last September 25, 2019 at Carmona Community Center.
Meanwhile, the ISO Certification is a test wherein GMATHS has successfully completed two stages of the third-party certification body in August 2019 conformities.
The NQA Stage 1 Audit was conducted last August 13, 2019 while NQA Stage 2 Audit was conducted last August 27, 2019 respectively. It resulted in Two (2) Positive Observations, Nine (9) Opportunities for Improvement and Zero (0) non-conformities.
Moreover, ISO Certification is a testament of General Mariano Alvarez Technical High School’s strong commitment in providing relevant secondary education with emphasis on Technical Vocational Education.
With this certification, the institution commits to continually improve, plans actions on addressing risks and opportunities and consistently provides services that comply with statutory and regulatory requirements. Using ISO 9001:2015 ensures that staff and students get quality services.
According to Dr. Victorio N. Medrano, Principal IV of this institution during the awarding ceremony, being ISO-certified only means QMS has been found to be appropriate and effective but the real work is to implement it continuously.
The certification is valid from September 2019 to September 2020.
