Also, this year’s BE and OBE features the slogan “Bayanihan sa Paaralan,” that aims to promote the “application of knowledge and convergence of efforts to address the required health standards and social issues at home, in school, and in the community” in the context of COVID-19.

“In GMATHS, we are preparing what we call the Learning Continuity Plan, eto iyong ating ipapalit sa tinatawag natin noon na School Improvemnet Plan. Dito nakapaloob lahat ng ating gagawin para sa ganoon ay maunawaan at maintindihan hindi lang ng mga mag-aaral kundi kasama dito ang kanilang magulang”, Principal IV, Dr. Victorio N. Medrano said.

Moreover, Dr. Medrano said that there will be a paradigm shift of this year’s BE since the traditional concept can no longer be carried out. Instead, he encouraged all the stakeholders, alumni, parents and community members to focus on how to fight against COVID-19 by donating safety masks, alcohols and disinfectants along with anything that will help students for online education.

District Supervisor, Dr. Elsa O. de Leon said “...the aims of Brigada Eskwela is to put on together  all the stakeholders to participate and contribute their time, efforts and resources in preparing our school for the opening of our classes though it is very impossible nowadays na magkaroon tayo nang tulungan physically at least through this Brigada Eskwela virtual kick off magkakaroon tayo ng idea on how to extend our support, our help here in GMATHS.”

We could encourage our stakeholders to donate sanitizers, thermal scanners and face masks and printing materials since ang magiging modes of teaching deliveries will be different because nasa  new normal tayo wherein learners may have their studies at home, distance learning or modular with the help of their parents”, she added.

Meanwhile, due to public health emergency situation, the Department of Education (DepEd) has developed a Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan laying down direction for basic education which includes “no face-to-face” policy for the conduct of “Brigada Eskwela” and “Oplan Balik Eskwela” activities for the period of June 1 to August 29.
